Flick doesn’t want to call ‘intelligent’ Yamal a child

According to international law, anyone under the age of 18 is considered a child. Lamine Yamal has only two months left to turn eighteen. Before that, the Spaniard is showcasing his footwork—having won four major titles including La Liga, the Spanish Super Cup, the Copa del Rey, and the Euros. Hansie Flick is calling Barcelona’s wonder boy intelligent. The Barca boss does not want to refer to Yamal as a child in any way.On Sunday at the Olympic Stadium, Barca defeated Real Madrid once again in a classic match. Yamal also scored a fantastic goal. With that victory, the Catalan club moved closer to the league title. After defeating Real in a thrilling 7-goal match with a score of 4-3, Yamal received praises from Flick.

Barcelona’s German coach described Yamal as ‘intelligent’, saying, ‘He is not a child. He is doing great. He has confidence. He believes in his abilities. He is very intelligent. His goal brought us back into the match today, a very important goal. At 17 years old, this is truly remarkable. This is exactly what we want from him.’

Barcelona needs just two more points to win La Liga. They could celebrate the title on Thursday at Espanyol’s ground, or it could be possible even on Wednesday if Real Mallorca drops points. However, Flick does not want to celebrate the title prematurely; he wants those two points quickly. If they secure the league title, Flick’s Barcelona could achieve a domestic treble this season. They have already won the Spanish Super Cup and Copa del Rey, defeating Real in both finals. However, the Spanish club has exited the Champions League race from the semifinals.
